Becoming a mom can be one of the most exciting times in a woman’s life but it can also be one of the hardest. When I first became a mom, I struggled way more than I expected to. I had been working as a play therapist, telling other moms how to parent for years. So I thought I knew what I was doing. Little did I know, nothing can really prepare you for parenthood as well as experience.
There are times along the way when I’ve realized that I wasn’t the only one struggling with something and I immediately felt relief. Realizing this gave me the passion to help other moms by showing them that they aren’t alone.
I earned a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University in 2006 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I practice from a person-centered perspective meaning I value each client’s ability to discover solutions to their struggles while I serve as their guide. I use cognitive behavioral techniques when appropriate to help clients understand how their thoughts are connected to their behavior. Together we can help you live a more fulfilled life by making small adjustments in these areas.
