Hi! I’m Patrice. I’m a former licensed child therapist who became a stay-at-home-mom in 2011. I started this blog because when I first became a mom, I struggled way more than I expected to. I had been working as a play therapist, telling other moms how to parent for years. So I thought I knew what I was doing.
Little did I know, nothing can really prepare you for parenthood as well as experience. When I was a therapist, moms would often ask me if I had kids and I would get so offended by that question. Looking back, I can see why my suggestions to play for an hour a day with your child were so unrealistic!
Once I got over the initial shock of sleepless nights, I realized that I wasn’t the only mom who felt this way. Dazed and confused might be the best way to describe it? Hearing that other moms went through the same struggles I was going through made me feel 100 times better.
As I navigated the challenges of parenting, I realized that being an open book about these struggles could help more moms than any parenting advice ever could. So that’s how Mom Life With P was born.
My husband and I have two boys who are 9 and 6. They keep us on our toes and busy on Saturdays with sports and feeding them endless snacks. We may not have parenting figured out just yet. In reality, we never will! But I can at least tell you what not to do based on my own mom fails.
Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to reach out if you have any parenting or blogging questions that I can help with!
