Are you feeling overwhelmed by the challenges of motherhood?

Do you feel isolated and alone?

You don’t have to do it by yourself!

It takes a village to raise a child, but not everyone has a village. Sometimes you may need to seek outside help in order to be the best mom you can be for your family.

Maybe your doctor said that you need to find postpartum depression counseling, but you don’t know where to start. Taking care of yourself when you are a mom is usually at the bottom of your to-do list. But you can’t be a good mom if you have nothing left to give.

Who is Postpartum Depression Counseling for?

It’s normal to feel tired, stressed, and overwhelmed when you have a baby- especially if you’re a first time mom. Worrying about your baby and whether or not you’re doing a good job is common for moms too! But when these things start to interfere with your ability to take care of your baby, that’s when it may be more than the baby blues.

Common Symptoms of Postpartum Depression

According to Postpartum Support International, approximately 15% of women experience significant depression following childbirth. Some of the common symptoms of postpartum depression include:

  • Feelings of anger or irritablity
  • Loss of interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Lack of interest in your baby
  • Sleep and/or appetite changes
  • Frequent crying and sadness
  • Feelings of guilt, shame, or hopelessness
  • Possible thoughts of harming the baby or yourself

If you or someone you know is currently experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or others, seek help right away. The National Suicide Prevention Hotline is available 24/7.
